Lost and Found Items found on buses are returned to the CityBus's administrative offices at the end of the day. Items may be reclaimed in person, Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM, at 1250 Canal Rd., Lafayette. Found items are stored for up to two weeks before they are discarded or donated to local charities. You may reach this office by calling (765) 423-2666 during hours of operation.
1) Board the bus again and ask the driver if the item has been found, or ask for permission to search the bus yourself. The driver will not allow you disrupt service, so the bus may need to continue on route while you search. Please do not call the office with the expectation that our dispatcher or other staff will be able to contact the driver to assist you with finding your item. We can assist you with finding the bus you are looking for, however; knowing the number of the bus, or route, time, and locaton will help. 2) Call the Lost and Found Office the next day or within two weeks at (765) 423-2666. The office is open Monday to Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM. We'll let you know if we have your item. Again, please understand that CityBus is not responsible for items left on the bus. |
Please Keep in Mind... It is important for riders to understand that CityBus is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please be sure to take all of your belongings with you when you exit the bus or any CityBus facility. In order to maintain safe and reliable bus service for our other riders, CityBus will not disrupt service to search for lost items, no matter how valuable the item. Throughout the day, bus operators check the bus for items left behind, and passengers frequently give items they find on the bus to the driver. These items are turned into the Lost and Found Office at the end of the day. Please do not ask us to search for your item while it is on the bus as we are not able to delay or disrupt service to look for lost items. Sorry, no exceptions. We appreciate your understanding. |
